Lakewood Elementary Hosts Book Drive

The Lakewood Elementary student council has generously pitched in and is working hard to collect children's books. All donated books will be distributed by Youth Reading Initiative to daycares and pediatric offices that serve low-income families in Dallas.
Book Distribution
Spreading Knowledge and Joy
We distribute books for children to read in pediatric examination rooms. Children are delighted to read books while waiting for their doctor. Children 1-3 year age receive books for their birthday check-ups.
Parent Education
Empowering Caregivers
We distribute customized materials to parents in English and Spanish with tips on reading to children of various ages.
Community Partnership
Collaborate with the Community
We are working with local neighborhoods and community based organizations to spread our message of social equity and opportunity for all.
